The last day of the month, and seriously, not sure where the time has gone. Like I mentioned yesterday, there was a very moist air mass over southern Utah and Arizona and it should be moving into and across the area today and into tomorrow. There's a lot of cloudiness over the state this morning, and we'll see a weak upper level weather system to increase the showers and thunderstorms this afternoon and tonight. We'll see some drier air try to move into the area tomorrow, but still a scattering of showers and a couple of thunderstorms. At this time, Thursday through Saturday are looking dry and warm with more showers and thunderstorms possible for Sunday.
Good morning! As we start the work week, there's a very moist air mass across southern Utah, and we're on the northern edge of the moisture here in Park City. The weather balloon data shows a slightly unstable air mass, so mainly widely scattered thunderstorms over the area today. The moisture and instability does increase a little tomorrow and Wednesday resulting in a little more numerous thunderstorms. Enjoy the day and just keep an eye to the sky this afternoon and evening.
Good morning! Well, we're right on the edge of the moist southerly flow and should see a couple of thunderstorms develop again this afternoon. I think there more of the development is expected over the Uinta Mountains. There's quite a bit of moisture down across Arizona and Mexico, and I believe we'll see it move northward into the area Monday night resulting in an increase in showers and thunderstorms Tuesday and into Wednesday. By the end of the week, we'll see a drier westerly flow develop. I'll keep you updated over the next couple of days.
As I talked about yesterday, a weak weather system moved northward into the area bringing an increase in moisture and there are some showers and thunderstorms in the area this morning. I think we'll see at least scattered showers and thunderstorms through the afternoon, but should become a little less numerous by later today and tonight. The weekend is looking pretty good with mainly isolated thunderstorms, and honestly, I'm going to get out and get a hike in and probably a bike ride and BBQ. Temperatures will be on the warm side.
Another nice weather day along the Wasatch Front with just a little cloudiness expected and an isolated thunderstorm. There's a real weak weather system that will draw some moisture northward later tonight and tomorrow resulting in a little more thunderstorm activity. We should dry out of this weekend, so make your plans to get out and enjoy the sunshine and warmth!
I took advantage of the awesome weather through early afternoon, and went on a hike with the family in the mountains behind Pinebrook. This is a picture of the cumulus clouds that started developing and eventually formed into some thunderstorms! Awesome hike!
As most of you know, I wake up early (like 4 AM early) and see the sunrise each day. This morning, the recent rain has things looking a little greener and looking awesome! As I type this, it's 48 degrees outside! Love the summer mornings in the mountains. Should be a good day with a slight chance of a thunderstorm this afternoon, but temperatures at the 6500 to 7000 foot level in the 80 to 84 degree range. Get out and enjoy the day!
Another period of rain and thunderstorms this evening! We'll see a drying trend over the next couple of days and some warmer temperatures! Have a great evening!
Another day with a break from the heat here in Park City! More showers and a couple of thunderstorms this afternoon, but a gradual decrease in the activity over the next couple of days. The decrease in moisture will also mean a warming of our temperatures!
After starting with a hot and dry summer, the rain was a welcome break from the heat! While it does not eliminate the fire danger, it is nice to see the precipitation and cooler temperatures. We will see more thunderstorms and rain tomorrow. Embrace the cooler temperatures and moisture.
